Child TestimonialsLah Say Wah
She was born to refugee parents, displaced after their
village was burnt down by Burmese soldiers. She knew nothing
other than the small confines of the refugee camp, the constant
threat of the D-KB.A., and survival by the good will of complete
strangers. At the age of 7, she became a REACH student at
Eden Valley Academy, a school for the Burmese refugee children.
Here, she was nurtured and loved. In her own words, she writes
-
When I was studying, I always kept in mind that I had to try hard because I had a dream; that one day I must get a college degree. I always prayed to God to fulfill my desire. Lah Say Wah, teaching her class at Eden Valley Academy.
After completing the 12th grade, Lah Say Wah began teaching at Eden Valley Academy. Recognizing her potential, the project director asked if she would like to attend Spicer Memorial College to study Elementary Education. She is currently attending Spicer and will graduate in 2006. I love this college because I learn many things, especially patience. I have decided that after I finish college I will go back to my people who are in need of education. My purpose of coming to study here is to gain knowledge so that I will be able to help my people and to be a witness to them of God's great love! › Sponsor a Child
